RAFT NAVIGATOR 1.4.1
Tutorial and downloads: https://raft.ricciardello.de

1. Run RaftNavigator-Setup-1.4.1.exe from the website. It includes launcher,
minimap and bridge, detects Steam libraries and creates shortcuts.
Portable alternative: extract the ZIP and run RaftNavigatorLauncher.exe.
2. Raft Mod Loader is required separately: https://www.raftmodding.com/download.
Save/close Raft before installing the loader if it is not installed yet.
3. Confirm the installer-selected folder containing Raft.exe. It copies the
bridge into mods. Portable users copy RaftNavigatorBridge.rmod there manually.
4. Launch Raft through its loader; F9 -> Mod Manager -> load/reload the bridge.
5. Open Raft Navigator. Right-click the radar tray icon for updates/settings.

BACKGROUND UPDATER
Checks at startup and every 15 minutes while the launcher runs, even with the
minimap closed. Updates/restarts the client automatically; game is not closed.
Tray settings control automatic updates, Windows startup and launch with Raft.
New bridge files activate after F9 reload or game restart.

DAY/NIGHT AND CAPACITY
The sun/moon ring follows the game clock. Sunrise/sunset times are estimates
and can change when sleeping, pausing or changing time. Unsupported sky modes
show unknown transition times. PACK counts occupied usable slots, including
hotbar and equipped backpack; a partly filled stack still occupies one slot.
Health is green, food amber, water blue; below 30% yellow, below 10% red.

COMPATIBILITY
Wire protocol v1 is independent of release numbers. 1.2.1/1.3.0 packets remain
readable; missing new fields show as unavailable. Peer discovery is announced
periodically so older loaded bridges can find an updated client.

SHARING IS AUTOMATIC
While loaded, the bridge shares your inventory and health/food/water with
other bridge users in your current session. There is no sharing off switch.
Unload the bridge to stop. Old settings.json sharing preferences are ignored.
Friends need the bridge for their full carried inventory and exact vitals.
Your bridge can read raft storage, native held items, positions and downed
status without friends installing it. No game telemetry is sent to the website.

CONTROLS
F8: show/hide. Ctrl+F8: interact/click-through. Esc: return to Raft.
Ctrl+Alt+I: expand inventory. Ctrl+Alt+F8: map size.
Ctrl+Alt+Plus/Minus: zoom. Ctrl+Alt+PageUp/PageDown: opacity.
Ctrl+Alt+C: cycle total/players/chests within selected source.
Ctrl+Alt+R: reset position. Ctrl+Alt+O: settings and shortcut customization.
In interaction mode choose Players / Storage / Both above the inventory.
The footer says CLICK ENABLED after Ctrl+F8. Click tabs, search or Settings.
Use All categories to choose materials, food & water, tools and more.
Qty sorts highest counts first by default; click it for A-Z.
Search filters items; the selector cycles aggregate and individual sources.
Both is the default. Source selection, size, opacity and position are saved.

STORAGE AND TOTALS
Placed raft chests are sampled locally. Trash cans, machinery, loose drops
and collection-net pickups are not included. Chests open by teammates are
excluded until they close and synchronize. Coverage shows partial totals
when player inventories, chests or fresh data are missing. Large storage
collections are capped at 128 chests / 500 KB; omitted chests remain reflected
in total coverage. Player packets can briefly lag a chest transfer.

MAP
Live nearby sharks use red fin markers and distances. Dead/unloaded sharks
are removed. Only currently loaded game objects are available. Raft footprint
uses foundation/net collider bounds, up to 1,024 sections. Teammate colors
remain consistent within a session. Vitals below 30% are yellow, below 10% red;
unknown is gray. Lower right reports the version of the running bridge.

AUTOMATIC UPDATES
Version 1.2 onward checks https://raft.ricciardello.de/releases/latest.json.
The desktop checks at startup and every 15 minutes while running, downloads a newer signed release, then installs
it when you exit the overlay. Start it again to run the new version. The bridge
checks when loaded and every 15 minutes, and replaces its .rmod for the next load/game restart.
The desktop also keeps the installed bridge file up to date independently.
Nothing forces a restart or unload while playing. Signatures and SHA-256 hashes
must match; failed checks leave the working installation intact. A .previous
backup is kept when a target is replaced. Updating from 1.1 requires this
manual installation once. Use the website for the current release.

DATA
Documents\RaftNavigatorData\state.json: local telemetry.
Documents\RaftNavigatorData\desktop-settings.json: UI preferences.
Documents\RaftNavigatorData\updates\updates.log: desktop update status.
Documents\RaftNavigatorData\bridge-updates.log: bridge update failures/readiness.
The bridge samples about four times/second and shares about once/second.

BUILD / TEST
Source and tests are in the accompanying local source folder.
dotnet test tests\Tests.csproj
Bridge compilation needs your locally installed Raft and RML assemblies.
Game/loader binaries and private release-signing keys are not distributed.
Automated test results and TDD evidence are in the local test-results folder.
Storage/shark telemetry was verified against the running game.

1.2.1: The overlay follows Raft onto the same monitor. Saved positions on another monitor are moved to the game monitor automatically.

1.3.0: Item categories, highest-quantity-first sorting, and reliable UI activation.

1.4.1: Game-owned radar stays visible when clicking back into Raft.
